Tracey Robertson is a Capital Systems Strategist and Ecosystem Builder and nationally recognized leader in philanthropy, social finance, and community investment with more than 35 years of experience designing innovative approaches to mobilizing capital for lasting social impact. Throughout her career, she has helped leverage and steward more than CAD $100 million in philanthropic, public, private, and community investment to strengthen communities across Canada. Her work has focused on building bridges across the capital spectrum, connecting philanthropy, finance, government, business, and communities to create collaborative solutions that address complex societal challenges. She has helped launch and scale numerous initiatives in philanthropy, community finance, impact investing, blended finance, and partnership development, including co-designing the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s first province-wide community investment strategy aligned with the Canadian Index of Wellbeing. She was also the recipient of Canada’s first national award recognizing leadership in advancing blended finance and innovative approaches to mobilizing capital for community impact. Today, Tracey’s curiosity is centred on the future of wealth, philanthropy and finance. During her time at the University of Cambridge, she hopes to explore questions such as: How might we shift mindsets about the purpose of wealth so that it becomes a catalyst for long-term societal well-being? How can philanthropy, private wealth, financial institutions, governments, entrepreneurs, and communities better weave together multiple forms of capital to strengthen communities and ecosystems? And how might the historic transfer of wealth to women and the next generation become an unprecedented opportunity to reimagine the future of finance and the role of wealth in creating a more equitable and resilient world?
